Centquatre

Curated by Xavier Vigreux, Renaissance Navigator

Until the 90s, Le Centquatre housed coffins, hearses, and bearers. It was the city-run funeral home. Today, the 39,000-square-meter space is dedicated to the production of art. Le Centquatre puts itself in the center of artistic creation in Paris via residencies, exhibitions, festivals and events. Throughout the year, Le Centquatre welcomes about 200 artists to paint, draw, dance, play, film, sing, perform, sculpt and even garden their art inside the building's walls. With a mission of blurring the boundaries between the public and art, Le Centquatre invites everyone to interact with their artists in residency.
