Plaza de Catalunya Square

Curated by Alfonso Garcia, Renaissance Navigator

First, you’ll need a costume, as locals love to dress up and mingle in the plazas in the evening. Next find a restaurant for a traditional dinner of mariscos, plenty of cava, and most importantly 12 grapes to eat at each chime of the bell when the clock strikes midnight. Then the real fun begins, as the fireworks go off and so do Barcelona’s many bars and clubs. Finally, join thousands of other revelers and watch the sun rise on the beach, with churros and hot chocolate in hand.
