The Traveling Man

A series of three sculptural installations metaphorically representing all that is Deep Ellum.
The Traveling Man Sculptures are found in three locations. All are on Good Latimer in Deep Ellum; the first is between Swiss Ave. and Miranda, the second is at Gaston and Good Latimer and the third is at Elm St. The best way to see the statues is to take DART to Deep Ellum station and walk south. You'll end up passing the sculptures along the way and end up at Deep Ellum Art Park.

EYE - The Giant Eyeball

A 30-foot-tall eyeball art installation in the middle of Downtown Dallas.
It’s a 30-foot-tall eyeball that is just sort of watching you. Not really but it is an ocular oddity for sure. Created by Chicago Artist Tony Tasset and is the first installment in a visual garden in the heart of downtown.

Nasher Sculpture Center

Rotating exhibitions from the Nasher family collection and private collections are on display at this stunning gallery.
The Arts District crown jewel, the NSC is where you find a lush 'roofless' museum, aka an outdoor art installation garden. The Nasher's themselves supply the art mostly from their own personal collection, but currently there is a moving installation called Plegaria Muda (silent prayer, loosely) where there is a maze of tables with soil placed in between demonstrating growth through obstruction.

Dallas Farmer's Market

The premier marketplace for the freshest meats and vegetables in Dallas.
The Dallas Farmer's Market has come a long way from where it used to be. It was definitely the hub of Dallas for fresh produce (as it still is now) but it has undergone a major face lift. Several key buildings were torn down and others were re-purposed. There is now Mudhen, an anchor restaurant and an indoor shopping plaza called The Market that's full of local vendors and plenty of food options!
