Sergio Seiji Sampê started out in hospitality with the goal of becoming a Navigator. Now having achieved his aim he is determined to help guests at the Renaissance São Paulo Hotel find their way in the city. Vast and intense, São Paulo can be a tough nut of a city to crack. Sergio is more qualified than most: aside from having a degree in Tourism and Hospitality, he has spent his whole life in the city and retains a passion for discovering its inner depths and sharing his finds with others. He says, “I enjoy the cultural and gastronomic vibe of São Paulo and, being a big city, it changes every day so I'm always updating myself. Going to new places, knowing people and making contacts, this is what I enjoy the most!". He particularly enjoys working in the Jardins area, which eschews the high-rise buildings and industrial fervor found in other parts to provide a sanctum of calm and greenery in the heart of the city. But allow Sergio to fully set the scene: “The Jardins district is a one-of-a-kind in town since you have cultural and historical attractions, an excellent park and several options for bars and restaurants close by.” He adds, “With this amount of options it is difficult not to be inspired.” Even when he is not working, Sergio likes to immerse himself in the neighborhood and though he has a few favorite haunts (namely a gourmet coffee shop and molecular cocktail bar) he enjoys visiting new bars and restaurants.
