Natascha Gmaz

Multi-lingual Natascha Gmasz helps guests decipher Vienna’s greatest hotspots.

Navigator Biography

To help guests experience Vienna like a local – that is how Natascha Gmasz sees her role as Navigator at the Renaissance Wien Hotel. She has worked in hospitality since 2010, starting out at the Marriott International in the Austrian capital before being given the opportunity to expand her horizons and complete her management training at the JW Marriott Cambelback Inn Scottsdale Resort and Spa, in Arizona, United States. Skills sharpened and wanderlust sated (for the moment, at least), Natascha returned to Vienna to take up the Navigator role – and now takes deep satisfaction from helping guests see the best of the historic city, whether they wish to take in the splendor of the nearby Schönbrunn Palace or taste Vienna’s dazzling nightlife. The role also allows Natascha to brush up on her impressive language skills. With dual Filipino and Austrian heritage, she speaks Tagalog, German and English fluently; Italian, Spanish, Malay and Indonesian to conversational level, so can translate Vienna’s secrets into unforgettable experiences for all guests. Away from the hotel, Natascha likes to check-in on her recommendations. She goes for pizza at what she considers to be Vienna’s best pizzeria and drinks cocktails at her favorite after-hours bar. And she always takes a moment to consider the rich history of her home city.“I love the thought that in former times Empress Sisi walked along the same paths as I do now,” she says.
