The Golden Unicorn is a New York classic, and though you’ll see tourists here, the tables packed with Cantonese-speaking locals assure you you’re in the right place. The shrimp shumai dumplings are the stuff of local legend, though in-the-know dim summers go for the leek and pork buns, fried taro and custard buns. They also do a Peking duck that rivals the best in all of Chinatown. It’s a foolproof destination for solo dining or large groups, and a great place to enjoy a traditional Chinese new year banquet.
