Back when New Orleans was a French colony, the more pious locals would fast all day on Christmas Eve, and only after Midnight Mass would they reward themselves with the Christmas feast of Reveillon. Nowadays, Reveillon dinner is served all through December, and there’s no better place to experience it than Muriel’s, where it might include a scandalously good Oyster Pan Roast, Blue Crab Napoleon, Seafood Bouillabaisse and Pan Perdu Bread Pudding. The food is outstanding, but it’s the festive, welcoming atmosphere and distinctive brand of New Orleans cheer that makes this such an amazing experience.
