Waterfire

The paths of Waterplace park crackle with excitement on the special days during the summer this art installation comes to life. Cords of wood are placed on partially submerged platforms on Providence’s three rivers and lit ablaze, filling downtown with soft firelight and woodsmoke. There’s often live music, too, and the crowds line the banks of the river, entranced by the fires, each other and probably a few glasses of wine. It’s incredible.
