<p>Oktoberfest dates back to October 12, 1810 when Prince Ludwig married Princess Therese of Saxe-Hildburghausen in Munich, Germany in a celebration that also doubled as a celebration of the upcoming harvest. On the anniversary of this date, locals would drink up last year’s beer stock to make way for the new beer about to be brewed.
