At Zia's Trattoria, chef and owner Joe Calabrese has designed a menu inspired by his travels to Tuscany and Liguria. Savor classics like Margherita pizza and Rigatoni Piedmontese, with prosciutto, figs and goat cheese, or opt for Rotolo, pasta with a trio of colors and cheeses in Barese sauce. The ambiance is quintessentially Italian. Exposed brick facades, wrought-iron furnishings, velvet drapes and rustic accents convey an inviting living room atmosphere. This fountain is a work of art. With video technology and an interactive mechanism, visitors can enjoy this unique summer respite.
Crown Fountain is a great addition to Millennium Park’s public art scene. Designed in 2004 by Spanish artist Jaume Plensa, it is a major attraction among locals and tourists. In keeping with its theme of dualism, two glass towers of 50 feet (15.2 meters) are built on a granite pool. LED screens on their inner facades project digital videos of faces of Chicagoans. The nozzle is strategically placed on the mouth giving an illusion of spouting water, an act symbolic of ancient gargoyle fountains.
